In the past she has also been on staff at Spa Magazine, Earth Island Journal, Heeb, VenusZine, Planet Magazine, Soma and Sustainable Industries and worked as a stringer for Allure and Modern Bride.
Her magazine work has appeared in numerous national publications including Conde Nast Traveler, BusinessWeek, and Travel + Leisure, and she’s written books for Fodor’s, Great Destinations, and Wallpaper.
As a co-founder of Climate Confidential, she helped get longform, investigative environmental journalism into a host of national publications, including The Atlantic, Quartz, Smithsonian, Modern Farmer and many more.
In 2007, she won a Folio Eddie for her feature on the potential of algae as a feedstock for biofuel.
